The book "Geopark Naturtejo Meseta Meridional - 600 million years illustrated " was a Naturtejo bet in the Geopark project classification. The work, launched in the first day of the Coordinator of Geoparks Network visit, Nickolaos Zouros, to Naturtejo region,  congregates a photographs set of Pedro Martins and still counts with the texts of Carlos Neto de Carvalho, the geologist who co-ordinate the Geopark Naturtejo Meseta Meridional. The texts find itself in Portuguese and English.

Geopark Naturtejo Meseta Meridional represents a new concept of tourism in Portugal. It aims the understanding and enjoyment of the unique and the intact landscape, characterized by wide plains where quartzite ridges rise, creating powerful natural ramparts carved by the waters of torrential rivers and resulting a scenic gorges. The middle course of the Tagus River is the proper place for outdoor activities proposed by the Geopark, which includes the municipalities of Castelo Branco, Idanha-a-Nova, Nisa, Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova and Vila Velha de Ródão. The geological treasures of the area grant innumerable places of natural beauty to the region. They are the starting point of discovering preserved ecosystems, a deep history and millenary traditions, where you are always welcome as a friend. This is a well kept treasure that is now being introduced by Naturtejo Geopark. This book is just its first glimpse…
